Pickety Pick Pick

That's what I was doing for a few hours last night. See, we learned how to make these cute little bags at my quilting class. I didn't write down any directions, I just made the bag with my class. On the way out of the store I bought a couple of sheets of interfacing so I could make a few at home. Last night I finally got around to trying to make one of these little bags all by myself. I got to the final step and was BAFFLED as to how to finish it. Complete blank. I tried all kinds of stuff and picked it apart and tried again. Boooo. This morning I called my teacher (can you believe I did that?!) and confirmed that I am sooooooooooooooooo dumb. Here is the finished product:
Cute, huh? The ladies in my class were doing all kinds of crazy things with theirs, but I'm more concerned about using all these fabric scraps at my house than I am about buying more embellishments. Since the dumbness was behind me, I timed myself making another one just now. It took an hour and nine minutes - and that's with several interruptions and not being able to find a big enough scrap at first. A-ha! Take that, cute little bag.

P.S. Happy Birthday to Brian. I'm celebrating by sewing since he had to spend it at scout camp.

I think these would be great for a church bag for all my books and stuff! I've been wanting a church bag that isn't from some conference I went to with Randy! Let me know when/if you make a larger one to shove all my stuff in. Seriously.
p.s. my word verification was kerstud - as in "you're a stud" for attempting this bag! And happy birthday to Brian.

Very cute and impressive. Reversible? I hate picking things out. That's why I gave up sewing.

These two aren't reversible because I'm lazy, but I could make them reversible. It's definitely big enough to carry a set of scriptures, snacks, and a couple of binkies. Maybe each of your kids needs one, Rae! Hee!

I think I need one too! I pick more than I stich! Every time! Either hold an Enrichment class, or set your price! Come on!
I went to Broadbent's the other day with my mom, because she thinks all the quilting inspiration will come to me by osmosis, and signed up for a class...all because of you!
