Sew & Tell Friday: Play It Again, Sam

Both of my projects are sequels to other projects.  What can I say?  I like to use up all the fabric before I move on.  The third quilt is one that finally came back from the long arm quilter (never machine quilt when you're up against a Sicilian or minky) last Saturday and I put a fancy binding on it.  (It's just a regular binding.)

1.  Another Rural Jardin (I still laugh and laugh when I think about seeing that movie poster on "30 Rock" after wondering what the heck they were saying for all those episodes - hopefully more than just Ashley knows what I'm talking about) Double Wedding Ring!  This time I did a runner with three rings, the "diamonds" are dark blue instead of red and the back is my second favorite fabric maybe ever:

See if you can find the little scrap in one of the arcs that happens to be just a horse's bum - I didn't do it on purpose, but I think it should be my new signature.

I almost always fall in love with any toile.  Except that pea-green and black, too-busy one I saw at Broadbent's the other day.

I'm thinking this table runner could be reversible.

2.  Speaking of reversible, my Mom requested a summer table runner, so I used some more A Breath of Avignon to make this:

There are three more flowers, but I thought I'd keep Mom in suspense for another day.  Also look at the back!  It's one piece, but I would totally use this as a runner:

I did a "real" binding (all except the hand sewing) on this one and the double wedding ring table runner.  I love how it looks.  Also, the daffodils are finally blooming around here:

3.  And now for the baby quilt that I did a fancy binding on and made sure it was all ready for my visit to Kristi and her new baby only to forget it when I went to see them.  BAH.  That is my way.  ("Always here are the Queen's ways.")

I also took pictures of this quilt, then I erased them on accident, then I had to take them again.

Sure the binding is flowers and the baby is a boy.  Just trust me that this sweet little baby is going to be dressed up like a princess by his older sister and having flowers on the binding of this quilt is the least of his concerns. :)

I love the table runner for you mom. Both sides are interesting enough that they could each be used.
I hope someday I will have the ability to do a double wedding ring anything! It looks so great.

Why do people think that baby boys can't do flowers? You know these things are actually for the mom, right? Baby does not care. And yes, you are out of control! Mom is so lucky.

Had to laugh at "pea green with black" toile--I have something like that in my stash. One of those "what was I thinking?" things, but it may end up on the back of something eventually. I love your table runners and baby quilt! The quilting on them is perfect.

Ha ha! Love the Princes Bride!

Anyways.... those table runners are just awesome! The fabrics you use really make them pop. Those flowers on the baby quilt, it's not girly at all. Just perfect, if you ask me.

Thanks for sharing!

oh wow! I love them all! What thread do you use on the wedding ring table runner. I have the hardest time choosing thread, so I've been using transparent, but it's a PAIN! Your long arm quilter did a beautiful job, and I LOVE the quilt, flowery binding and all!

Oh boy, and I was just feeling proud that I had busted out the sewing machine for the first time and hemmed some cut off shorts for my boys. Baby step right?

Love the Toile too. It's beautiful!

Love both of the table runners. Double wedding ring is my all time favorite. Really been wanting a pumpkin seed pattern! Where did you get yours?

Gorgeous!!!

Blessings,

KT

Wow how prolific have you been! Another pumpkin seed. Yumm. I don't think I will ever tire of seeing those. Rural Jardin is gorgeous and combined with a double wedding ring design it certainly is a winner.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks of the "Rurrr Jurrr" bit on 30 Rock whenever I see Rural Jardin! Your pieces are beautiful, how gorgeous these prints are. Fantastic finishes - thanks for sharing!
