Sew & Tell Friday: Drowning in Fabric

I did an inventory the other day and discovered the ingredients for six more projects.  One is definitely fall fabric and went straight to the front of the line.  I thought I had one yard of six different fabrics in Sherry Berry's Christmas line, but I had two yards of each.  It's not even that cute.  I've decided to make a bigger quilt with most of it, but I finished up a quick runner (before I knew there was enough to drape my whole house in it) this last week:

I do like that it's more winter-y than Christmas-y.  Maybe it could hang around the house from November to February and not be out of place?  I'm seriously horrified by how much of this fabric I have.

Speaking of the stash, I made a car seat blanket with some of that adorable Riley Blake Doohikey Design's "Hooty" fabric on one side and a piece of brown and white gingham flannel that has been hanging out in the stash for at least a year.
Don't they look cute together?  I think fabric is kind of like the toys from Toy Story - it wants to be used for something.

It's that kind of thinking that leads to buying too much not-so-cute Christmas fabric from the 50% off table.

What has everyone else been up to this week?  Go look at Amy's blog.

I love the colors/fabrics in that table runner! Gorgeous! And the monkey/owl fabric is pretty awesome too - my son would love it!

I love this fabric--and the pattern for the table runner. What is that block? You may have to use the rest for Christmas gifts?

I think you did a good job with that fabric even though you don't like it so much. the runner came out quite cute.

And the cover is just great!

Beautiful finishes. I love the car seat cover. I've had my eye on the Hooty Hoot fabric for awhile, but can't find it in a charm pack.

I agree that the runner could be used long after Christmas and make the house look so festive in January when it might look bare after all the Christmas decorations are put away! Beautiful work.

The Sherry Berry runner is gorgeous, and yes, I think it can be just seasonal winter runner.

Cute car seat blanket too.
