Family History Photo Monday: Family Time at the New Mall, August 1981

The "new" mall!  In Pocatello, Idaho.  It was a pretty big deal, apparently, since the whole family went with Grandma and Grandpa Furniss.  First, Grandpa had to get a walking shot in the parking lot.
From left to right, Me (Nicole), Allyn (thumb sucker), Katy (it was winter in her world), Mom (pregnant with Kenzie?), Jennie, Dad with  Melissa on his shoulders and Grandma Furniss.  We all have our little purses and our shopping faces on.

What mall is this?  I thought the Pocatello Mall didn't have an escalator.  Jennie and I are rocking those tater tot shorts!

If you ever went shopping with Grandma and Grandpa, this is the exact place you'd find Grandpa when it was time to go home.  (Note to self: Check out Miss Piggy's autobiography for next book.)
This looks like a show and tell party.  Sweet Grandma Furniss was always genuinely interested in everything we did or said.  :)

That is the Pine Ridge Mall in Pocatello. The escalator was in ZCMI. It's very sad to see that mall when it was new because it's practically empty now. It's interesting that probably the only store that is still there is the bookstore where Grandpa is in the picture. I am pregnant with Kenzie, Allyn is about Noah's age (still with the thumb!)and Melissa apparently spent the whole day on Dad's shoulders. What a Dad!

Tater tots- hahaha!!! That is sad about the mall. Pocatello should do something about that. (P.S. I do not remember this at all! It's so exciting to see these pictures)

I always worried about getting stuck in the bookstore with Grandpa. Now I get it. I love that everyone has their own little purse. Adorable! Grandma was always so stylish.

Maybe you should have been worried about the fact that your Dad had you on his shoulders while riding an escalator without holding the railing and turning backwards. I'm going weak in the knees looking at that picture! You actually do look worried.....
