"Oh no you don't, Queen Vanessa!"

Bridget's first grade class performed a play called "Snow White and the Six Dwarfs" yesterday.  Finally.  They started learning their lines back in February.  Bridget had us practice and practice and PRACTICE with her - all four of her lines - every day after school for a week.  Bridget was in Cast 2 and she played The Sheriff.  She had her part down after the first day.  By the end of the week, she had everyone's parts memorized.  Then I went to parent/teacher conference and found out the play wasn't for two months.  Wha..?!
For weeks now Bridget has given us updates almost every day on the status of the play.  They made sets, practiced their lines, got costumes.  Bridget and her friend, Sami (sitting on the desk with the plaid shirt and boots) were both the sheriff (Sami in Cast 1 and Bridget in Cast 2) and Sami's a cowgirl in real life, so she brought a hat.  Bridget wore her Batgirl T-shirt and had no hat.  (Different idea of law enforcement, eh?)  Sami was the truest of friends and let Bridget borrow her hat for the performance.  Speaking of the performance, it was 10 minutes long.  Woohoo!  Grandma and Grandpa came, which made it even more special for Bridget.
Sami and Bridget.  I've been hoping to get a photo of them together since they started hanging out.  Sami's grandma (Penny) and Bridget's grandma (Peggy) have been friends since they were little girls.  It warms my heart to see them playing together.
There we are!  Cute little actress Bridget and her super-interested brothers.  Emil managed to get shoes and socks off during the 10 minutes of the play.  He is a professional.  I loved seeing my girl up there speaking her lines loud and clear.  She didn't look nervous at all.  She told me later that it was really scary.

Yay, Bridget! Cutest sheriff, ever! Sami is related to Penny Cash Cutler? What a small world. I'm assuming, "Oh no you don't, Queen Vanessa!" is a line from the play. I can't imagine what that play was about.
