Diary of a Cheap Woman: Week Six

Why didn't anyone think to tell me about the most obvious way to save money? Stealing, duh! You know, the old five-finger-discount. Come on! Bridget came home from her friend's house the other day with a Barbie and a baby My Little Pony. I couldn't be prouder. (Obviously her friend gave her the Bed Head Barbie and the My Extra Little Frizzy Tail Pony. Or maybe Bridget just let her think she gave them away. Awesome.)
My contribution this week was to go dark. That's right, instead of turning the lights on, I open my blinds. It better make a difference because I can't see very well on cloudy days. On a more serious note, I'd like to give my husband a shout out for riding his bike to work. Big deal, you say? Work is 23 miles away. He only needs to fill up his car with gas every 6 weeks. So proud.

Hopefully stealing, going dark, and Brian riding his bike to work makes up for me losing my mind at Baby Gap this week. Why do the employees always think you need to hear, "This is so cute."? (How in the world do I punctuate that?) I know it's so cute. I couldn't resist buying it. Just put it in the bag and let me feel the shame of blowing my budget in peace.

I love stealing! In fact, what do I love more? PEOPLE who steal! Especially Qwest phone service. Yay for great people.

Ah yes, theft. Customers at Deseret Book call their criminal activity "good customer service". AKA - letting them get away with whatever they want. Hey, that might be another consideration for you while going cheap - throw fits in stores. It'll probably get you a discount.

Good work Brian! Filling up the tank only once every 6 weeks is unbelievable.

I don't have any posts about our adoption, I just started my blog this year and our oldest son is almost 8. I wish I would have been blogging back then!! I didn't keep much of a journal so ya know I have forgotten alot I am sure!! maybe if I get time, I will go back into the past and with some photos and memories, all my birth family reads the blog, that might be fun for them to see
