Bridget and Leah weigh under 60 lbs. together. Who needs a hand to hold for that news?
My daughter thinks she needs those glasses to see.

I had to peel Bridget off me to get her on this pony. After about a minute she was telling me to go away and let her ride "by myself." She has informed me at least once every day since that she wants to ride the horse by herself next time.
It's hard to hold hands and run - especially when you're wearing crocs or sparkly red shoes. (The little girl on the left is Leah's friend, Ada. Btw, Leah lives next door to us and has a lot of cool toys.)
Here's a view of most of the front of the house (while we were working the street was littered with small boys on ATVs, so I didn't stand in the street to take the photo).
(Don't worry about that crazy patch of something between the rock and the tree in the foreground. It's just daisies. They'll take over the world soon, so I let them do what they want.)
And after six hours of shoveling and lunges and kneeling on poke-y stuff:
It's better, right? It was worth it, RIGHT? Sigh. I'll take a picture when my Prairiefire Crabapple trees are in bloom and all my pink and red tulips and daffodils and hyacinth are blooming... THEN you'll be jealous.
What was Bridget doing this whole time?
Here's Bridget at Leah's house (with Emerson) sitting down, standing up, moving chairs, sitting down again. It was a busy day.
And a bright day... without sunscreen. :(

On Saturday Brian and I went on a rampage in our yard. Unlike a Jack Bauer rampage, everyone came out of it alive. (We're both walking like old people, but we're alive. Also, '24' is totally stressing me out these days.) The goal was to get all the old bark chips off the dirt and replace it with brand new, black bark chips. Here is one section after we'd cleared off the old bark chips.
And after the new bark chips were down:Here's a view of most of the front of the house (while we were working the street was littered with small boys on ATVs, so I didn't stand in the street to take the photo).

New bark is the best! It makes the yard look brand new. I love that Bridget wants to ride the pony by herself.
Totally worth it. I can't wait to see your tulips. I hope Bridget and Leah handled the weight news okay.
This whole post made me crave spring, the smell of bark chips and a clean street with manicured lawns.
Your house is darling!!
Beautiful!! We worked out in the yard on Saturday too, but it is still at the ugly "working on it" stage. We are still dealing with old neglected yard things before the new beauty can be introduced. 'sigh' It just takes time, right? Way to go!!!
The new bark was totally worth it! And everyone needs glasses like that to see. Everyone should wear glasses like that everyday!
Bridget's glasses are awesome, and if I ever buy a pair again they are going to be just like that.
The bark chips look great.
I am missing tulips and daffodils really bad right now, so I am jealous that your yard will be full of them soon. And the black bark looks GREAT! I am impressed.
Your yard really does look spectacular! Nice job!
And Bridget and Leah are so darn cute and it looks like a fun day at the Farm. Yay for friends living next door!
I love the pictures. AND I love that you change your background almost every time you post.
Needs those glasses to see...he he...and I am so glad she has clothes on that doll...everything here is naked...and that chair is more my style...the hard work...not so much!
Bridget is so adorable! I'm not sure where I found your blog - probably a neighbor. I finally have a chance to say "Hello!" Your yard looks great! I hope we get some warmer weather next week so we can revamp ours! Bytheway . . . we love the farms, too!
Briget cracks me up! The pic of her with the glasses riding the pony is like, "I'm Queen Bridget, Professional Pony Rider."
Oops! I forgot the "d" the first time I typed her name. Going too fast I guess. Sorry!
i swear i read this post a few days ago and there was nothing with the yard. maybe i am loosing my marbles (keep your comments to yourselves). bridget has such an awesome personality judging from the thousand words these pictures are saying. WHY CAN'T WE LIVE CLOSER TO YOU?! in many ways i am sure you are glad we don't, but i hate that i can't watch this girl grow up.
