We had a fiesta last Saturday with my brothers and three sisters and their families. Why a fiesta? If it's TexMex, does it still count as a fiesta? Anyway, we ate Southwest Chicken Eggrolls (some of us did - sorry Rob and Claire), chips and salsa, dang quesadillas, Spanish rice and for dessert, Marie Calendar's pies! Somehow the boys outnumbered the girls. If only Katy and Allyn could have been there! In their absence, the little boys had free reign to come up with "good" ideas and execute those ideas without female interference. (Katy has five girls and Allyn has two girls and three boys. The six siblings who were there have six boys and two girls combined. I know! And four of those boys are Jen's!) Melissa and Makenzie are doing their part - both of them acting all pregnant and stuff. Hee!
We set up a game of croquet, but Gabriel was on the job. "What are these doing here?!"
With so much interference, the men and boys had to resort to an inexplicable game I will call "500." It's all about saying a number, throwing a frisbee, knocking someone over and not catching the frisbee. It's for the kids. (I just noticed that Aaron is on both sides of this game. He's that good.)
Most important of all is that we got the rest of the chairs put together! People thought I was taking pictures of their adorable children, but secretly I was getting photos of my awesome chairs and the pillows I finished 15 minutes before everyone showed up. Yay, me! They make me happy.
P.S. This is my favorite picture and I forgot to add it to the first version of this post. Look how awesome Melissa's kids are at croquet. Harrison asked me where the yellow "bat" was at one point.

Those are seriously some smashing chairs!
The backyard looks wonderful, but more importantly look at those amazing chairs!
You didn't fool me. I knew it was all about the chairs. Were they really playing "500"? Who knew?
I'm still waiting to get credit for finding the fabric for the pillows - or at least for providing the siblings. :) I'm glad you had fun - wish we could have been there!
So fun. The chairs and pillows are awesome, and I can't believe that Gabriele is walking! Wasn't he just born like two weeks ago?
I'm sorry I suggested that you go to Wal-Mart on my products post - hehe. Your reaction made me laugh out loud. I have to admit, I'm not very good with moisturizer cause I don't use it much. I like the Clinique stuff that I'm using now because is clears up breakouts, but that's probably not what you need. I bet, though, that Clinique has something you'd like, or Estee Lauder - their stuff is so good. If you go to Instyle.com, they recently did their best of list, and I'm sure that it's on the website. Lots of good suggestions.
What a long comment!
ps- I did not know that Melissa and Makenzie are pregnant!
ohdang! i would have been so mad if i had missed the texmex egg rolls. oh wait...i DID miss them! looks like you had a sweet visit. how did aaron get there? is he out for the year already?
you are making me sad with all your sibling good times.
the chairs are adorable as are the pillows. whose crutches are those in front of the awesome chairs?
thanks for posting. i was waiting impatiently for it.
What could be better than hanging around with the sibs? Hanging around in awesome chairs, obviously.
In other news, I didn't know Katy had so many girls! Girls rock. I'm a big fan. :-)
Ok, now I'm totally jealous!! Who said you could have a sibling party without me and Allyn? We'll show you, NICOLE!! ("I'll get you, Laura Ingalls!") We'll have a beach party of our own...or something southern...
Ethan brought the crutches- he sprained his ankle on Gma's trampoline on our first day here. He healed very quickly though. Mmmmm...egg rolls! Wah! Wah! Katy and Allyn :)
