Sew & Tell Friday: Mine!

I'm finally keeping something.  We have an empty wall in my master bedroom and I really wanted a Double Wedding Ring quilt for it.  I put it off for a few months, but I finally really got to work on it over Memorial Day weekend.  I used French General Rural Jardin fabrics (this project is the reason I had so many scraps for all the other projects) because those are the colors in my room.  And what quilt pattern is more romantic than the Double Wedding Ring?

I didn't leave much instruction with Dixie, the long arm quilter genius, and I think she did such a beautiful job on the quilting.  She stitched "in the ditch" around each ring and the first border, and she did four different stitches in the rest of the quilt.

The borders are two of my favorite fabrics in this line.  The blue one is one of the 54" pieces.

That muslin background is still some of the coolest fabrics I've seen.  Really heavy with flecks of tans and brown.

The back is one piece of that 108" wide by Moda.  I think that fabric goes with almost everything.  Also I wanted everyone to see that awesome corner.  That binding tutorial has saved my life so many times!

I'm so happy that I get to look at this every day!

Go get inspired at Amy's blog!

Ohhh! That is so gorgeous! I love the colors and the quilting is just beautiful. Wedding Ring quilts are one of my favorite and kind of my reason for getting into quilting. I've only dabbled a little bit, but one day I'm going to make a DWR. Beautiful work and thanks for the inspiration!

Beautiful Nicole!! Wow all the quilting is so pretty and makes the rings pop out, like 3D.I get a kick out of my corners coming out perfect too. My husband thinks it's the silliest thing. He's a non-quilter and doesn't understand.

I was laughing at you saying you finally got around to it after a couple months - for me, finally getting around to something means like a year or 10 later!
