Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jog

Remember two years ago when my brother, Aaron, left for his mission in Peru?  Does 2009 seem like yesterday to anyone else?  Sometimes the only evidence I have that it wasn't yesterday is this blog and my children.  Anyway!  Aaron served an honorable, beautiful mission and he is home again.  We saw him for a few minutes the day after he got home and he and my Mom went to Vermont to watch Jennie's son, Taylor, in his high school production of "Singin' in the Rain."  Last Sunday we heard Aaron speak in church (barely - the guy that spoke before him went off the rails a little and spoke for 30 minutes) and then we had a wonderful lunch at my parents' house.  It's nice to have him back and it was nice to have a missionary in the family again. :)
I finished the binding on his quilt in the car.  Aaron's friend Kyler really liked it.  I should find his Mom and tell her to build him a T-shirt quilt.
Some of Aaron's high school friends came to hear him speak and eat home-cooked food.
They're looking at a yearbook here.
My cousin David and his wife Wendy came with their five children.  What a pleasure they are!  I think it's been 10 years since I've seen them.  They have one daughter, Anna.  I asked Bridget if I could set her up with the dollies downstairs and she answered, "You can set me up with Anna."  Ha!
There were baby boys everywhere!  That's Emil in the foreground, then Ian tugging on his ear and Colin trying to take a nap behind Ian.  A little sidebar, look how Emil is sitting.  He has such a big bum and legs and yet he is so flexible.
Colin reads everything he can get his hands on.  He was so excited to find out the meaning of life.
Let me see if I can get this right - Cassidy, Tyler, Kyler, Ben, Aaron, Michelle, and Chelsey.  (I checked Facebook AFTER I wrote down all those names and I got them all right!  Win.)
We took this picture in the same spot two years ago.  Makenzie had a baby girl and moved, Rob has a son, and I have two more kids, but otherwise everything is the same. :)
Speaking of Miss Ruby.  I wish this was in focus - she is so cute!
I love this picture.  I don't often catch Brian with the smile he uses in real life.
We drove to Pocatello and back on Sunday, which worked out well since the babies got to sleep in their own beds and everything.  We had to use our combined repertoire of songs to sing to Emil during the last 45 minutes when he was losing his mind on the way home, but otherwise it was great.  It's always so nice to be with family and the occasion made it even nicer.  After everyone else had gone, we demanded a performance from my Mom and Dad and they obliged.  :)  That's always my favorite part.

Oh my!! That quilt is awesome. Makes me wish I didn't DI all my HS/mission stuff. P.S. My daughter wore the cute twirly skirt I bought at the fabric boutique and she was pretty much the most popular girl in nursery. Just sayin'

Awwwww. He's home! Now I believe it. :) Thanks for the report and the lovely pictures. I especially loved the one of the four siblings on the porch. A lot changes in two years, I guess.

Thanks so much for this - I love all the pictures! We loved having you here, and everyone else.
My favorite was when Aaron's friend Tyler said there better not be any of his t-shirts in the quilt.:) The quilt is truly a treasure!
