Radiator Springs... Utah

Remember how one of my favorite things about Utah is Arches National Park in February? We thought it was time to introduce Bridget to one of our favorite spots and it worked out that Allyn and Aron and their five kids could meet us there to celebrate President's Day in what they thought was Radiator Springs. (Brian caught on faster than I did when the kids were talking about Radiator Springs at breakfast this morning. I've only seen "Cars" once.)

It was so so so cold, but everybody had a hat and some extra clothes to put on. A mile and a half sounds like no big deal when you're not talking about hiking up a big rock. Banks wanted to abort the mission, but he rallied after a short piggy-back ride from Auntie Nicole. (I had to make up for taking his picture at such a tragic time. I actually had to zoom in on him - he was pretty far away.) The kids were charmed by the snow (meh - seen one pile of snow, seen them all), so we took a few scenic detours.

Nothing beats rounding that corner and seeing Delicate Arch for the first time. It takes my breath away even when it's not cold. I love sitting there and drinking it in. What a treat to make that hike with my sister and her family. And it turns out I will never get tired of experiencing things for the first time again through Bridget.

Why do I cry when you talk about seeing things for the first time through Bridget? So sweet. What a good mum you are. Glad you had a good time. Fun pics!

Fun! Was this just yesterday? How long are the Boneys in town?!

The Boneys are leaving for Payson on Thursday. I think they're heading back to California on Friday. I should have done a slide show - I had so many favorites. Btw, we had fun thanks to Dan's awesome baby back pack. Thanks, Dan!

Do you know I still have never been to the arch? Now I'm ashamed and it's on my Utah-to-do list.

Those pictures are beautiful! Now it's on my Utah to-do list, too. (Along with skiing, Swiss Days, and Hoagie Yogie.)
