Sew & Tell Friday: Fruitcake

I made last weekend into my own personal sewing retreat.  It was awesome.  I brought a bin full of potential projects with me on our road trip and just picked out the stuff I felt like doing.  I cut an entire jelly roll (of 3 Sisters "Park Avenue") into little squares for some double wedding ring table runners and toppers.  I finished the top of a black eyed susan quilt (it's at the long-arm quilter now).  And I made a square topper and a runner with Moda Basic Grey's "Fruitcake."  It's delicious!  I finished up the runner when we got home and the square will be quilted by me tomorrow.

So, here's some fruitcake for you:

Oh, and I did the binding on last week's quilt:

I also made a car seat blanket.  Hey!  That's pretty good for one week.

I hesitate to do this, but so many of y'all are gross...  I took a picture of my arm after nursing it for a week.  I already regret posting this.  (See what an amazing iron I have?  Look at all those steam holes!)
Gag.  It was so much grosser the day after, too.

Now go over to Amy's Sew & Tell Friday and get inspired to finish something. :)

Your projects are absolutely beautiful! I just love the pumpkin pattern and want to learn how to make it for my next project. I love the fabric that you used for your table runner.
Sorry about your arm. It looks painful. I'm impressed that you still could sew with a painful arm. Heal quickly. I can't wait to see what you finish next week.

Gosh I am so sorry about your burn. My goodness. It looks like it hurt pretty bad. I hope you feel better real soon.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Nicole - You always produce such beautiful quilts! I especially love the runner with the ornament fabric backing. Ow! You're poor arm. Are you putting aloe and Vitamin E on it to prevent scarring? Stopping by from Sew&Tell. Thanks for sharing. Happy Sewing! :o)

Such beautiful work. I love the tablerunner, a reminder that the holidays are fast approaching...yikes! I think we all should share our injuries form crafting. I'm sure there would be some very interesting stories!

oooh, you poor thing. That iron burn looks awful. Hopefully you are feeling better. Use some vitamin E lotion so that you won't have any scarring.
Now on to that quilt. It is gorgeous . I love the fabrics; especially love the pattern. what is that block called...orange peel?
