Sew & Tell Friday: Scarred for Life

I have a finish to share, but I really had to dig deep this week to do any sewing.  As I was setting up to work on some stuff last Saturday, I moved my ironing board away from the wall a little bit.  The iron was on and of course it fell full on my left forearm.  I have a burn (an oozy, angry one) from my elbow to my wrist.  It hurts all the time.  All.  The.  Time.  I would take pictures of it, but Bridget informed me that "no one wants to see that," so I'll spare everyone.

On to The Finish!  This is one of the special order quilts from the nice lady at the Artisan Fair.  She wanted a "crib size" pumpkin seed (with the centers) using the fabrics she liked from one of my other quilts (French General Rural Jardin and I threw in some Rouenneries too).  Here is what I came up with:

I had a dark background for this because none of my quilt stores had much of either Rural Jardin or Rouenneries anymore.  I kind of like the contrast.

I also didn't have quite enough of the taupe fabric to make all the flowers the same.  Bah!  I found the same fabric in blue and used it in the corners.
Okay - you caught me.  It's not bound yet.

Here is the back.  You get a better idea of what a genius Dixie Anderson is looking at the back.  She found a pattern to mimic the pumpkin seed flowers.  I thought that was very cool. =)

That's all I've got today.  I feel good about it, too.  Go see what everyone else feels good about over at Amy's blog.

It's beautiful! I love the colors. I'm one of those people who is morbidly fascinated by the scars of life. Take a picture! I wanna see that burn. :oP Hope it feels better soon. Stopping over from Sew&Tell. Thanks for sharing. Happy Sewing! :o)

I continue to love this pumpkin seed pattern. Hope your burn feels better soon--I hate how they indeed hurt every moment regardless of distractions.

Terrific finish! I really like the blue in the corners.

I've given you a Versatile Bloggers Award...I'm not sure you're into things like that but I thought it a good opportunity to introduce your blog to my readers.
