Family History Photo Monday: Curtis & Shirley Lee Family 1953?

I've been thinking I need to pay more attention to my Dad's side of the family on these FHPMs.  The thing is all the really great photos are on a disc where they cannot be separated from the pack.  That is no good to me.  The photo today was hard won by Brian and me a few years ago.  We were visiting Grandma and Grandpa and spent about three hours combing through old photo albums looking for stuff I wanted for my wall.  This family photo jumped out at me because my Dad is usually so subdued - especially in photos.  The big flaw is that Candace isn't in it.  But who can resist that handsome Mom and Dad with their little boys?  Especially since my Dad is looking so delighted about something.  (Bridget saw an older gentleman at church wearing suspenders yesterday.  "He does like this [motions across her shoulders] and then they cross in the back.  Like Grandpa Bob.")  Cheers to the paterfamilias!  (No way did I spell that right on the first try.)

Curtis, Bob, Larry, and Shirley Lee about 1953.
I'd also like to point out that Dad and Uncle Larry are wearing suspenders and belts.  The 1950s were a difficult time - kids were always losing their pants.  I wasn't the one who cut off Grandma and Grandpa's hands in the editing process, by the way.

Wow - but even without Aunt Candace in the photo, isn't it kind of like she's there? Could she and your dad look more alike?!

this is a sweet nostalgic photo. the photographer must have been wearing a buck rogers get up. youknow, dad's fave.
banks wore suspenders and a tie today for school pictures. he was so excited about it. too bad i wasn't planning on paying a million dollars for school portraits.

That is a cute picture. So your Grandma did have a different hair style at one time...?
