Family History Photo Monday: At the Grandparents' House

We used to spend a few days at Grandma and Grandpa Furniss's house during the summer.  Sometimes we'd get to stay alone and sometimes Mom would send a few of us.  On one of the proof sheets I snagged after Grandpa Lloyd's funeral, I found some photos of a typical day at Grandma and Grandpa's on one of those visits.  This time it looks like Allyn, Melissa, and I were on a visit at the same time, June 1981.

Here is Melissa coloring.  Note the TV tray and that she is standing on a footstool.  This is quality work.
Allyn sitting on the porch being reverent.
Me posing in a tree.  Socks with sandals - my loathing of my feet started early.
Everything moved at a slower pace when we were at Grandma's.  Our activities were quiet, but still fun.  I always looked forward to visiting without my parents.  The other day Bridget informed me that her Grandpas don't play the same way.  She loves them both and looks forward to their visits, but it's true - no two grandpas play the same way. :)

I love seeing cute pictures of me I've never seen before. Was my eyesight that bad even then? And how cute is girl Noah? So fun.

these really are sweet. i cannot believe how well the proof sheets scan and blow up. that is so encouraging because gpa got a lot of good stuff on those that never got printed.

Adorable pictures! Thanks for sharing them with us. I loved those visits to Pocatello. Life really did seem to slow down at Grandpa's house...."But where was Katy?"...seriously, why wasn't I on this trip?
