Best Day of My Life, What Do You Think?!
This is the Summer of Bridget. She starts kindergarten this fall (?!), but she's not saving up any energy for that. She wants to be doing something every minute! We will be in the middle of a super fun activity and she'll ask, "What do I get to do after this?" Meanwhile, we have two babies who aren't as keen on being outside for hours and not getting fed at the appointed times or having to sleep in a stroller when they get tired.
Daddy has this week off (to make up for 40 of the extra 1000 hours he worked during the last two months), so he arranged for swimming lessons for Bridget every day this week. It was last minute, so she ended up in a class with three terrorists who were mostly about screaming and crying and pointing water guns at our faces as we waited for the class to begin. Bridget was nervous and ready to back out, but she did it anyway. Right when it was over, she asked me if she gets to do swimming lessons "after this day" (still not so sure about the word "tomorrow" and how it applies).
Last night we ate burgers and fries in the back yard and Daddy set up a tent for him and Bridget to sleep in. Bridget has been obsessed with tents for a very long time. It is her fondest dream to sleep in one outside. I've never seen her so happy as she was last night to finally get to do it. When I asked her this morning what the best part was, she said it was playing games in the tent. (They took Go Fish and Old Maid out there.) They also did the "Tootie Ta" song, which is my favorite part.
Colin was only there for the photo op and Emil was inside sleeping so that he and I could stay up late watching NOTHING and being sad. (Before Emil woke up, Colin and I somewhat enjoyed the movie, "Morning Glory." Then again, Bridget and Daddy had been watching "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" before getting into the tent and anything looks good after that piece of crap.) Bridget is into "Star Wars" right now and Daddy and I like to pretend the babies are that crazy Emperor who hexes people by shaking his hands at them. That's what Colin is doing in the above photo. As you can see, The Force is powerful with him.
It's going to be tough to top this week.

That looks like a lot of fun!
Nothing makes me happier than seeing dreams come true! yeah, dude. Good luck topping that week.
We've struggled with the whole "tomorrow" word too. I wonder when that will actually make sense. :) Brian must be a great Daddy to make all of those dreams come true. What a fun week!
I love that second to last picture. It's heart melting. I love how your last two posts have been heavy on 'dad.' Perfect for Father's day!
