I looked for this picture for hours the day after Easter. I knew it was here somewhere! It's the best, right?! Makenzie's basket is one that we (some of the older girls) held at my Uncle Mark and Aunt Julie's wedding. I bet you could fit two marshmallow chicks in there! Jackpot!! They're sitting on the foldout bed in Grandma and Grandpa's front room. The Smurfs were a big deal. :)
I don't remember the Easters we had in Oakley except getting a new dress (made by Mom). When we moved to Pocatello (1984) I can remember hunting down the baskets and finding them on top of the washer and dryer one year. Jennie and I would always trade candy - my marshmallow chicks for her M & Ms. That's right, I'd rather eat a tiny M & M than a marshmallow chick (gag). Either way, we weren't showered with presents for Easter. When I went shopping for Easter candy a few days before the holiday I was confronted with at least a dozen kinds of M & Ms. Raspberry?! Come on. A rant for another day...

Who does want to eat Marshmallow chicks (besides Jen, I guess. :) )? My family always called them disgusting yellow peeps. That is such a cute picture. Kenzie looks so small to be going after a disgusting yellow peep that enthusiastically. :)
These hair dos in this picture are etched into my memory. I have decided that Easter is a candy holiday and I decided to say the candy is from mom and dad. What is this myth about a giant bunny delivering candy and hard boiled eggs in a basket. The pre made baskets in the stores have everything under the sun in them. Huh? Mom did a great job when we got older with the baskets. She did a great job when we were little, too.
