I love that
Amy is doing this once a month instead of once a week. Then I have something to report! Today we're supposed to sew and tell with our friends and that makes me a little bit sad because my quilt group hasn't met for many months. My house was our meeting place and it's been Crazytown here for a while. It's because of those wonderful ladies that I finished so many things last year. I also have my Quiltsmart group that I took classes with and went on a few day-long retreats with last year. They're a little bit older than I am and I love learning from and with them. Quilting friends are the BEST. They are encouraging and not competitive. I love just being around them.
Over the last month I finished the Applecore Quilt for Allyn's new baby, Chance. My friend came and saw it when it was just the top and now I'm helping her make one for her daughter. This pattern is irresistible! So, challenge accepted, Amy! This particular friend is somewhat new to quilting and needed a push to do something more difficult.

Zebra print binding! Just admit that it was a brilliant idea. |

I had them do the "bubble" quilting pattern on it. This quilt was made to take abuse! I couldn't find the orange minky I was dreaming about for the back, so it's a green and white polka dot that I somehow didn't get a picture of... How did that happen? |

I've made some car seat blankets, too. I can't find the photo of the one I did for Ashley. Just as well - that was my first sewing project with three kids (I realized yesterday that Brian and I never experienced having two children) and it wasn't my best work. Sorry, Ashley. Anyway, a collage of the other ones.
